Great start for this series. I was compelled to reading this book at every chance I could get. Turning the pages reading about each character was a delight. I am on edge awaiting the next part of this book. I am rooting for the night club owner who will not that Old G push him around! So glad I finally read this title. I've had it for a while in my kindle library. I found it very compelling. Jumping right into part OK.
Excellent way to spend free leisure time in continuing my mental goals of reading a book a month to expand my memory and reading skills.
Patrick and Tony and two very interesting characters. Patrick, a modern day prince charming to the women in town has a sinister side that Tony is about to face head on. After a multiple crimes against the people he loves, will Tony and Detective Taggert be able to stop this modern day mafia boss? Meanwhile Tony's cousin Stephanie is testing if blood really is thicker than water when Patrick sweeps her off her feet. The sequel is sure to be filled with blood, sweat, and tears. Stay tuned for Shakedown 2 in 2013. It's sure to have you on the edge of your seat, you heard me? )
I liked this book, I thought the author did a good job with the story of Patrick and Stephanie, wish I could have seen a lil more HEAT but I guess it's more to Come with these two later. This is my first book by this author but I must say that he kept me looking for more!!
I first learned about the author from a group on Facebook. I was looking for an urban author and story that did not have a lot of profanity and slang that I could not relate to. This story could be about real world life folks. I connected with the characters like they were someone I knew. I was so impressed with the introduction,that I bought the sequel. I am now going to start that book. I can't wait to see what happens to Patrick and Stephanie.
I loved this book! It takes off from page one and the end comes too soon. I was off today and decided to start it but it was so good, I couldn't put it down. I read the whole book in about 5 hours. The writer brings the characters to life so you're sympathetic in their dilemma's; everybody's dilemma's. Enough twists to keep you intrigued and well orchestrated so you can't guess anyone's fate or the outcome of the story. The only thing that became apparent was the hook up that's leading to the next book. The good guys and the bad guys end up interwoven with opposing agenda's and I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book. In short, a great book and I'm buying the sequel this week!
